As some of you may have noticed we are testing some new looks for our home page. We currently have 5 variations of the home page, including the original layout. We are testing the different layouts to see which page appeals to our customers for use and visual appeal. We have added some new flash features ‘New Parts’, ‘Weekly Featured Parts’ & 'What our customers have to say' as well as links to our Facebook & Twitter accounts.

Antique Tractor Engine Rebuild Kits – Request a Quote Online

We’ve launched a new feature on our website today. You can now request a quote for an overhaul kit, pistons, rings, sleeves, and other engine parts on our website. Check out our Special Order request form. Once you submit this form online, one of our technical specialists will review your request, locate the parts and email or call with a customized quote. This is the simplest way to get a quote for engine kits.

Steiner Tractor Parts does not stock engine overhaul kits, but we are able to order the parts for most antique tractor overhauls. There are no returns on special orders, so it is very helpful for you to provide as much information as possible on the special order form. This will ensure you receive the correct products.

We hope this new feature makes it easier than ever to acquire the engine kits you need to overhaul and rebuild your antique tractor engine.

Backorder Report Now Available Online!

We’ve just added a new feature to our website. You can now view our backorder report online.

The report will be updated each Wednesday. The report contains approximate due dates for the select few items that we do not currently have in stock. Please note that some items may show as backordered on our website and not appear on this report. One of the most common reasons is that the item may be a kit. This means that we are selling an “assembly” that is comprised of multiple items from our inventory. Rather than showing the inventory under the kit, we keep the inventory under each individual component part and just build the assemblies as ordered. If you aren’t sure about an item that you saw as backordered on our website, please contact us.

We aim to keep all of our parts on the shelf, but this isn’t possible. We are very proud of the fact that out of the over 4000 products that we offer, only 3% to 4% are backordered at any given time. Also, we have several individuals in our organization who devote their time to communicating with factories and vendors and work very hard to get products back on the shelf.

We regret any inconvenience that backordered parts may cause you, but rest assured that we are working very hard to get these products on the shelf. I hope that this new feature will be valuable to our customers and help you to plan your projects. Soon, this report will be linked from all of the backordered products’ detail pages, but here is a permanent link to this report. Bookmark this and check back often!

2009 Catalog Price and Tractor Application Corrections

Here at Steiner Tractor, we know that we sometimes make mistakes.  Our challenge is finding ways to inform our customers of any mistakes that we’ve made in the print catalog.  Please accept our apologies for these errors.  It is a tremendous challenge to get our 400 + page catalog put together and edited before the deadline each year.  We thank our many customers who share their experiences on particular parts and help us to keep our application data up to date.  This blog is a good way for us to let you know about price changes, tractor application information changes, and any typographical errors and any other mistakes that we may make throughout the year.  We will try to continue to post updates to these correction pages throughout the year.  These are also posted on our catalog page on the website.  If you find any errors, please send an email to jr@steinertractor.com .  We will research the issue and update our application information accordingly. We take these matters very seriously and we will respond to any issues that you find with a product description.  So, please review these corrections and update your print catalog!

Information regarding our Special Order John Deere Hoods

We’ve noticed recently that many customers are searching for John Deere Hoods on our website. We’ve added a page to our site to help you to special order hoods for various John Deere tractors. We are still not able to take orders for the John Deere hoods through our normal shopping cart due to the delay in availability and the costs of shipping.  We want to make sure that our customers are well informed about the shipping and manufacturing time for these hoods before placing their order.  If you have any questions or would like to order one, please let us know.  If there is a hood for a John Deere model that isn’t listed on our special order page, please send us an inquiry. During your visit to our website on the home page you will see two 'bubbles' titled customer service, below the text is the available status. When you see ready to assist you just click on the link and you will be connected to live help. There is no need for any special software or downloads just click and wait for someone to introduce themselves and you can begin your help session. You can ask questions, check stock on an item or ask for directions around the site. We hope this will give our customers one more way to access our staff and get you the quick service your deserve.
