3rd Annual Tractor Photo Contest

 Did you find a rusty tractor that needed restoration? Did you inherit the family tractor that has kept the farm running for over 50 years? Or did you just catch the antique tractor bug? Whatever it is, share your photos with us!

Our 3rd Annual Best Antique Tractor Photo contest is open for participation and will run through Wednesday, June 20, 2012. We will announce the winners on July 4th via our website, e-mail, Facebook© and Twitter™. Winners are featured in our 2013 catalog and will receive bragging rights among antique tractor enthusiasts everywhere and a $50 gift certificate!

Anyone with an antique tractor, a digital camera and a desire to win is encouraged to enter! You do not have to be a current customer of ours to participate; however, if you are a customer, feel free to make note of the products you used for your restoration in the story. Each individual is permitted to submit up to five tractor photos.* The photos must be less than 3MB to upload through the website (though we may contact the winners for a higher resolution for print purposes).

Be sure to use the built in share features to share your entry with your social network including family and friends. The more voting, the better! Also, if you provide more details about the make and model of the tractor and the location of the photo(s), you are likely to entice people to vote for your tractor. Dan Steiner will have the final vote on the winning photo.

National Agriculture Day

Celebrate National Agriculture Day. The Agriculture Council of America and the National Ag Day program was started in 1973 to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture. Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture. Ag Day is celebrated on March 8, 2012. National Ag Day falls during National Ag Week, March 4-10, 2012.

Agriculture provides almost everything we eat, use and wear on a daily basis. But too few people truly understand this contribution. This is particularly the case in our schools, where students may only be exposed to agriculture if they enroll in related vocational training.

By building awareness, the Agriculture Council of America is encouraging young people to consider career opportunities in agriculture.

Each American farmer feeds more than 144 people ... a dramatic increase from 25 people in the 1960s. Quite simply, American agriculture is doing more - and doing it better. As the world population soars, there is an even greater demand for the food and fiber produced in the United States.

Louisville Hoodie Winner

Congratulations to Dudley Wallace of Amo Indiana. Dudley entered his name in our drawing at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville Kentucky and won a Steiner Tractor Parts hoodie.

Dudley said he has been attending the show in Louisville since he was around 9 years old. It is a family outing for him and this year his 14 month old Grandbaby went with them. He said this was her second year but she doesn't remember last years show.
